15 Updated Blogging Facts About Me

Assalamualaikum. Hi.

Back in 2017, there was a trend to do a blog post on 15 Blogging Facts About Me, which I also did. Reading that old post made me realize how much I've grown this blog of mine and how different I am compared to 8 years younger me. So here's my updated version;

1. http://diarialiazmi.blogspot.my/ was my first URL and I've changed it to http://www.lyaamie.com/. More professional, at least in my opinion.

2. The blog started off with the title 'Diari Cik Gadis' - still ew, whenever I thought about it. I've changed the blog title three times now - La Scrittura Street, and currently using Scrittura. It means writing in Italian. I did a blog post about it here.

3. I've spent money on my blog countless times now. I thought hard on why I did, and the conclusion I got is, apart from I love the blog looking aesthetic, it's simply because I have money now.

4. I've finally purchased a premium template. Most of the free ones are more than okay, but premium templates are more to my liking, like the one I currently use. Aesthetic kan?

5. I still never join any giveaway. But not entirely because I believe luck isn't with me, more of because I'm too lazy to. But if I find any giveaway that I'm interested in, I might join it.

6. It's been 14 years since I started blogging, and I've never met any blogger friends. But I don't know if I'd love to meet with bloggers (making new friends) anymore. I find it exhausting to meet new people. 

7. I still always spend time visiting each blogger who left their footprint in my blog and do my very best to read their posts as they've read mine. I appreciate my readers, I mean, who doesn't? I also miss bloggers who used to be my favourites, as they no longer update their blogs.

8. I'll still create a new draft post whenever I get a blog post idea. I don't jot down in a notebook anymore, as I no longer use a notebook. I write on my phone instead.

9. I blogged in Malay before deciding to change the language to English in mid-November 2016, just because. Nowadays, I have the urge to blog in Malay. But I didn't because it would ruin my blog, I guess?

10. I will not have a certain niche; let's just say that I write whatever I feel like. It's a personal blog after all, not a business one. But I sort my posts in categories so it's easier for my readers to find what they seek.

11. I still don't have a blog schedule. I don't want to make updating my blog feel like a hassle, so I don't plan to make one ever.

12. I use justify mode for the paragraphs of my blog posts as I think it's neat and more appealing to the eyes.

13. I don't always listen to music while writing a blog post. Sometimes I need the music to accompany me while writing, but sometimes I just want to hear my surroundings.

14. I read my draft post 2-3 times to check for any spelling or grammar errors before hitting the publish button. I also use Grammarly to help me write. But I still don't think my posts are completely free from these errors since English is never my forte.

15. I'm a fan of my own blog. I think bloggers should be fans of their own blogs. How else are you gonna enjoy writing if you're not a fan of your own blog, right?
