Hi.
It's just another day until we say goodbye to the year 2024, and I ended it with the series Squid Game 2. We had to wait a whole three years for the sequel to the first series. I remember being so excited and can't wait while counting down the days to its release. The series was released on 26th December 2024, and I spent three days finishing it. Here is my take on the series.
The Cast
Ever since the teaser for the series released its list of the casts, my jaw dropped. It was filled with A-list actors adding to the already great actors from the first. However, it's not to my liking that they cast actors with sexual criminal records. I can't help but feel disgusted as these actors appear on the screen. They are Song Young Chan, Oh Dal Su and Lee Jin Wook.
The Plot
The series started by showing how the lead, Song Gi Hun's lived after receiving the prize money and then worked with the police, Jun Ho, trying to break into the games. The lineup with big names sometimes made the plot a bit dragging as they wanted to highlight each actor. However, it was still okay. The overall plot was good as it gave nerve-wracking moments in each scene, especially during the games, I did get bored during the Carousel game though. Most sequel was not as good as the first show, but Squid Game 2 proved otherwise.
The Plot Twists
A standing ovation to the writers for good plot twists here and there during the series. Some of the plot twists that I was excited about were the revelation of the player 001, the character Kim No Eul and the revelation of the actor playing the superior.
The Ending
It sucks. I didn't read that it's going to have season 3 so I was expecting that the ending of season 2 would conclude the series. Instead, it left us with a cliff-hanging scene. Applaud to the writers too as it made us anticipate season 3 even more.
My rating: 8/10 ⭐
Have you watched Squid Game 2?
Till then,

ReplyDeleteIf you haven't, you should watch season 1 first to understand more the season 2

Three days I think considered quite long. People who are keen to binge-watching could finish it in only one day! That was the old and younger me. Haha
